Predictions for 2002
Quoted in Florida Today on January 1, 2002.
 | Osama bin Laden isn't hiding in caves but is walking the street in the
disguise of a shaved beard. He's being protected by wealthy patrons and
there's definitely water around him. Khalil bin Laden knows where he is.
Later this year he will be apprehended and assassinated during legal
proceedings overseas. |
 | There may be another terrorist-related airliner incident in the US. |
 | The event to watch is the Winter Olympics in Utah - there's going to be an
investigation. (This has come to pass with the
investigation of the French skating judge) |
 | President Bush has managed the "War on Terrorism" well so far.
But there's going to be an instance of him using excessive force that the
American people will not be too happy about in the next year and a half. In
fact, it'll have an impact on his re-election. |
 | There will be health problems for Dick Cheney, perhaps a resignation in
early 2003. |
 | Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake will announce their engagement. |
 | Florida Governor Jeb Bush will be re-elected without any problems. |
 | Pope John Paul II will pass away. An American Cardinal will be considered
to fill the vacancy, but the papacy will go to a European, possibly a
Portuguese. |
 | Jennifer Lopez will get pregnant before the end of the year. |
 | Celine Dion will have another pregnancy. |
 | Madonna, or someone of her stature, will become entangled in a lawsuit
involving a fan and theft, possibly a copyright infringement, but more
likely concerning some intangible object. |
 | Christina Aguilera will release an album in late winter or early spring,
and follow it up with a summer tour. |
 | Michael Jackson will be involved in a paternity suit. |
 | A NASA launch involving animals will create a lot of problems with the
animal-rights people. |
 | An accident or injury will sideline a star wrestler - someone like the
Rock - for much of the year. |
 | Michael Jordan will take the Washington Wizards into the NBA playoffs, but
they won't go far. |
